What is HypnoBirthing®?

HypnoBirthing®, also known as the Mongan Method, is a relaxing, stress-free method of birthing that is based on the belief that all babies should come into the world in a gentle, calm manner. Through a comprehensive training program of deep relaxation, breathing exercises, self-hypnosis and birthing education, a mother learns the necessary tools to birth her baby in a way that is more comfortable and peaceful. HypnoBirthing returns a woman to the art of birthing that allows her to summon her natural birthing instincts and to birth her baby with safety and ease.

HypnoBirthing® often eliminates the need for chemical anesthesia, episiotomies and other medical interventions. By deeply relaxing all of the muscles involved in the birthing process, the labor and delivery time are often significantly reduced.

During the HypnoBirthing® process, self-hypnosis is used to reach a deep state of relaxation and redirected focus. The mother is conversant, in good spirits, and fully in control, but her body and the muscles involved in the birthing process are deeply relaxed.

Jim Shcwartz received his training in HypnoBirthing® directly from Marie Mongan, the founder of the HypnoBirthing® program.

Through his extensive work with infertility clients, Jim created and developed the “Hypnosis to Promote Fertility” program, a comprehensive program that is unlike any other in the country. The success of the fertility program created the need to add a safe and natural birthing program to Jim’s practice.

My husband and I were delighted to learn about HypnoBirthing and then discover Jim Schwartz. After our first session, it was clear that Jim could help us achieve the birth of our desire. We felt further blessed to have a male practitioner since pregnancy and birthing is often dominated by female energy.

Not only did Jim provide us with the skills we needed during our HypnoBirthing session, he also helped us overcome some pregnancy related obstacles.

On April 1st, 2008, we were honored to welcome our daughter into our arms using HypnoBirthing techniques. Our birth was what we desired in every aspect, and we feel confident Jim played a role in helping us achieve that.

I am now delighted to be working with Jim on post-partum issues. I would highly recommend Jim Schwartz and his wife, Julie Roth, who together offer comprehensive services to men and women, and who have both been very helpful to me during and after my pregnancy.
