Q. I love receiving massage and it always feel good, but sometimes I feel as if I can't completely relax with so many thoughts in my head and things to be done. How can I quiet my mind so I can enjoy, relax, and connect deeper?
A. (Lisa Beaubien) The first thing to realize is that we are all in this together and no one is escaping the fast-paced lifestyle of technology, and the daily tasks of home and office, while trying to stay connected to intimate relationships. So to prepare for massage and to receive the full benefit of staying in the moment, it's important to be on time or even a little early for your appointment. And remember to turn off your cell phone or better yet, leave it in your car! Once you are on the massage table, remember to keep talking to a minimum as that uses mental (mind) energy, and please don't feel like you need to talk unless it's related to the massage experience, i.e., depth of pressure, temperature of the room, or any emotional release because of the healing touch. Most importantly, remember to breathe deep, and focus on the touch being given and before long you will be drifting off into another world!
